City Digital Skin Art Festival: Internationales Umwelt-Videokunst Festival auf Medienfassaden und Public Screens

From October 15 to 31, 2024, the Elbphilharmonie's Media Wall will present artistic video works that deal with our planet's habitat and its ecosystems.
The curatorial theme 'Beyond the Screens' opens up different perspectives into non-human ('non-human' or 'beyond-human') living environments and aims to give a voice to these ecosystems that are often not heard or seen with our human senses.
Renowned universities around the world, such as the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the Polytecnico in Milan and the Bauhaus University in Weimar, have invited and instructed students to create one-minute video works for the 'City Digital Skin Art Festival'.
The 'City Digital Skin Art Festival' was initiated three years ago by the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou and is being presented for the first time this year in cooperation with the Connecting Cities network in Europe. From mid-October, large-format media facades and public screens will open in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Singapore, Milan and Paris as public stages for digital media art.
