The Chinese Film Festival Hamburg (CFFH) is an annual platform dedicated to contemporary cinema from Chinese-speaking regions and their diasporas. The third edition of the festival will take place from May 7–11, 2025, at Metropolis Kino and Lichtmess Kino in Hamburg.

With over 500 submissions and 26 carefully selected films – including several international and German premieres – the festival presents a diverse program spanning documentary, fiction, and experimental works. Its mission is to spotlight cinematic perspectives beyond stereotypes and create a space for intercultural dialogue.

Through film screenings, Q&As, and industry events, CFFH brings together filmmakers, audiences, and professionals. At the core is the “Film Plus” concept, which expands traditional cinematic formats by embracing cross-media works and forms of expanded cinema.

Organized by the Chinese Film and Media Art Association, CFFH aims to be a cultural bridge, highlighting artistic diversity, innovation, and socially relevant narratives.
