by Dora Heldt. Designed for the stage by Florian Battermann.
Low German by Heino Buerhoop, directed by Ute Junge
Is there anything worse than having to celebrate your 50th birthday in a stuffy bar with the whole family, including your husband's business colleagues and neighbors? And when you also have mood swings and sometimes glow like a hot stove? Doris seeks salvation in flight: she would rather face the dreaded date with her former school friends Katja and Anke - on a wellness weekend on the Baltic Sea, with all the trimmings. Back in school, the three of them had high expectations of life. But who likes to admit that not everything went as planned? Hot stones, hammam, pedicures help to continue to gloss over things (for the time being). Until the bomb explodes over strawberries and champagne and many truths come to light. With her bestseller, Dora Heldt once again creates a story that is taken straight from real life. Women in their prime can identify with it and have to admit with a wink that getting older, with all its ups and downs, is actually something wonderful. And with the use of hormone therapy, plastic surgery and concealing clothing, women always feel like they are 30 anyway. The stage version of the bestselling novel has everything a good comedy needs: lots of humor, a large portion of heart, a bit of drama and plenty of everyday situations that the audience can relate to.
