The coaching scene is booming – at huge events or exclusive retreats, in online seminars, countless podcasts and thousands upon thousands of YouTube tutorials, we can learn how to become “the best version of ourselves” – namely the successful version.
With BETTER WERDEN!, Felix Stachelhaus and his team get to the bottom of the neoliberal promise of advancement, the obsessive obsession with self-optimization and the omnipresent performance imperative of affluent society. Five musicians from the Berlin new music ensemble LUX:NM, singer Lisa Florentine Schmalz and the a cappella choir DooDooBa! invite you to a unique consulting event. Set between motivational training, contemporary music theater and cabaret, BETTER WERDEN!, between absurd humor and deep seriousness, asks the question of what success really is, why we strive for constant improvement and what happiness actually means.

English Version
The coaching industry is thriving – at huge events or exclusive retreats, in online seminars, countless podcasts and thousands of YouTube tutorials, we can learn to become “the best version of ourselves” – the successful version. With BETTER BE!, Felix Scheckhaus and team explore the neoliberal promise of social ascendancy, obsessive self-optimization and omnipresent performance pressure of an affluent society. Five musicians from Berlin new music ensemble LUX:NM, singer Lisa Florentine Schmalz and a cappella choir DooDooBa! invite you to a unique counseling event. Merging motivational training, contemporary musical theater and comedy, GET BETTER! moves between absurd humor and deep seriousness and poses the question of what success really is, why we strive for constant improvement and what happiness actually means.
