Christmas market around the Michel

Twinkling lights for the city

On the first weekend of Advent, Hamburg's oldest Christmas market shines and glitters at the Michel. In the crypt, in the parish hall and, for the first time, all over the church square, visitors can enjoy arts and crafts stalls, food and drink and hands-on activities such as painting nativity figures.

More than 100 exhibitors find their way to the Christmas market at the Michel every year. Handicrafts, fashion and jewellery are exhibited in the crypt, on the church square and in the parish hall. When looking for Christmas gifts, there' s sure to be something here.

Enjoy the taste

Food stalls with crêpe, sausages and mulled wine as well as the "Café der Generationen" (Café of the Generations) in the Bachsaal of the parish hall will cater for the physical well-being. Coffee and cake will be served in a Christmas atmosphere.

Program & Entertainment

The Christmas market at the Michel offers fun for young and old. There is a varied entertainment program for children. They can make Christmas presents. At the "Singen-Hören-Staunen", a program for families and children, songs will be sung and stories told to get in the mood for Advent. At the Advent concert of the trombone choir, music will resound from all galleries of the church, festive services and organ devotions will complement the program for contemplation. Christmas can come.
