Christmas Garden

In the coming winter season, the Loki Schmidt Garden will be transformed into a fairytale and glowing landscape. With breathtaking light shows, artfully designed architecture and imaginative illuminated figures, the Christmas Garden will be created here - an idyllic, Christmassy open-air

The history

The Christmas Garden premiered in Berlin in 2016. Due to its overwhelming success, further locations were quickly added, so that by 2022 there were already 19 locations in Germany and Europe. In 2022, a total of around 1.9 million visitors were counted. In just a few years, the Christmas Garden has become a shining highlight that captivates hundreds of thousands of people during the winter season. The Christmas Garden is a colourful idyll in the open air. Countless points of light, exclusive sound creations and light designs enchant the guests. The Loki-Schmidt Garden is transformed into a glittering fairytale landscape along a two-kilometre circular path.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Blankenese & Elbe outskirts

The former fishing and seamen's village of Blankenese is situated directly on the Elbe. It is the perfect starting point for hopping on a sailing boat or on the Elbe ferry, or for taking long walks along the shore. Another highlight is a visit to the Treppenviertel (German for staircase quartier) with a spectacular view of the lighthouse and the Falkenstein shore.
