As the only seaworthy ship theatre in Europe, the Hamburg Theatre Ship with its own ensemble presents a wide variety of programmes, trademarks: satirical, musical, cheeky. But its guests and stars also inspire the audience: among them were and are Uwe Friedrichsen, Gustav-Peter Wöhler, Gert Fröbe, Heinz Reincke, Sir Peter Ustinov, Senta Berger, Michael Heltau, Helmut Qualtinger, Monika Bleibtreu, Katja Ebstein and many others. Travels lead "Das Schiff" to Kieler Woche, Bremerhaven, Helgoland and ports around Hamburg.
Das Schiff" was founded by Christa and Eberhard Möbius, who not only successfully managed it for 25 years, but also made it a trademark of Hamburg. Today Heiko Schlesselmann manages it together with Michael Frowin as artistic director.
