Alma Hoppes Lustspielhaus

Stage for politically satirical cabaret

Funny, political satire and big names from Germany’s cabaret scene perform daily in Alma Hoppe’s Lustspielhaus.

Alma Hoppe's Lustspielhaus, with its 350 seats, is Hamburg's largest stage for political-satirical cabaret. The program features numerous guest performances by cabaret artists and comedians known throughout Germany, as well as in-house productions by owners Jan-Peter Petersen and Max Beier. But there is also room in the schedule for readings, live podcasts, a cappella concerts, improvisational theater and plays.

70,000 guests a year speak for themselves: In Alma Hoppe's Lustspielhaus, the audience enjoys political satire of the highest order every evening. Built in 1927 and used as Alma Hoppe's Lustspielhaus from 1994 on, the premises now offer a chic foyer, a modern performance hall and a cozy café. The doors of the Lustspielhaus open every evening at 8 p.m. (7 p.m. on Sundays) and with 280 performances annually, there is definitely enough variety for everyone!

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Eimsbüttel & Eppendorf

Here, one can find magnificent old building façades, local and exquisite restaurants as well as fancy boutiques and owner-operated shops. While Eppendorf is rather fancy, one can feel the hanseatic serenity in Eimsbüttel. Both districts offer much green and water and are hence with good reason very popular neighbourhoods in Hamburg.
