In the Police Museum visitors can not only see original weapons from 200 years of police history, but also search for clues themselves, solve cases or experience an exciting chase in a police helicopter up close.
In the police museum visitors experience everyday police life up close. Here, forensic technology methods can be tested. Weapons, sound and film recordings demonstrate how suspects proceeded and document how detectives investigated.
History and present of the Hamburg police are told and presented just as excitingly as the eight most spectacular criminal cases of the Hanseatic city. Exhibits include the saw of the woman murderer Honka, the fake Hitler diaries and the weapons of the "St. Pauli killer" Pinzner. Exhibits from the past and present answer the question of how and why the tasks and self-image of the Hamburg police have changed over the course of two centuries. A real patrol car and a police helicopter invite you to virtual trips and flights. Inspectors with many years of professional experience are available to assist visitors and guide them through the exhibitions.
In addition to the original traces of eight spectacular Hamburg criminal cases, the exhibition also offers a flight simulator with which you can start your own rapid chase across the Elbe. In addition, traces can be secured and cases solved in the forensic laboratory. Another popular souvenir is the "Criminal Photo" taken by the visitors themselves. Thus the museum makes the versatile and exciting occupation of the policeman for the whole family very closely experiencable.
