Elblinien
From Hamburg to Stade and back: with the Elbe Lines you can sail along the Elbe in a relaxed manner.
Until the end of October, the Elbe lines will operate with two ships several times a day from the Hamburg fish market and from Wedel to Stadersand and back. On the journey, which takes about two hours, you can marvel at the Elbe in all its splendour. Starting at the fish market, you will pass the Hamburg Elbe beach - especially the Blankeneser Elbstrand with the stair quarter is worth a look. On this harbour tour of a different kind you will get to know Hamburg and the metropolitan region from a slightly different side.
Along the Elbe river to Stade
Once you have arrived in Stadersand you can easily take the bus to Stade itself. The Hanseatic town of Stade is particularly worth a visit because of its old half-timbered houses and historic alleys. What is often associated with Hamburg can also be found in Stade - in the past the town was even partly more important for international trade than its big sister Hamburg. What you should definitely visit in Stade are the old fish market and the oldest open-air museum in Germany, which is located on a small island in the middle of the town.
