Hamburg Airport transfer to the city centre

The fastest, most economical and most comfortable means of getting from the airport to the city centre is the airport transfer via public transportation.

The Fuhlsbüttel Airport is eight and a half kilometres from downtown Hamburg. There are various shuttle options between the airport and city centre, all of which take circa 25 – 30 minutes. If you want to avoid waiting times, taxis are available at the terminals.

Public transportation

Hamburg has had a suburban train (S-Bahn) feeder to the airport since 2008. It connects the main train station directly with the Fuhlsbüttel Airport. The trip takes approx. 20 minutes and the Hamburg Airport stop is located directly beneath the terminals. Guests who need to leave very early in the morning or who arrive very late at night can take night buses.

By Taxi

Taxis are available at the terminals to take arriving passengers to the city centre. They are available at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
