Active in Hamburg
It is well known that Hamburg is a moving city. This is due to the incredible diversity that has something for everyone: Clubs and bars, theatres, sights and much more. But in Hamburg you can also get around easily. By foot, bike or with a tennis racket in your hand, there are many different ways to be active.
1.Ascent Dockland
The Dockland is an architectural masterpiece. The office building is shaped like a parallelogram and rises 40 metres above the water like a ship's bow. In addition, it offers a gigantic view over the Hamburg harbour on the huge roof terrace. But in order to enjoy the view - from a height of 25 metres - you first have to climb the 140 steps of the open staircase.

On your active tour, the famous Blankeneser Treppenviertel (stairs quarter) is a must. Fishermen and pilots have built the hillside area quite unconventionally and unstructured, which has led to a winding system of paths and stairs. With over 58 footpaths and a total of 4864 steps as well as a fantastic view of the Elbe, you can enjoy very extensive walks here.

If you stand at the foot of the "ladder to heaven", you almost feel like this staircase is a never-ending path towards the sky. The Himmelsleiter is the fastest connection between the Elbchaussee and Elbstrand and extends 139 steps to the beach. Those who head for the top must overcome a full 30 metres of altitude - after which, they know they've had a workout.
