On the road at Hamburg's most beautiful Christmas markets
It's finally that time again and we are celebrating the most wonderful time of the year - the Christmas season. After the last two Corona years, the Christmas markets are opening their stalls again this year! Dive with us into Hamburg's Winter Wonderland and stroll with apple punch in one hand and roasted almonds in the other over one of the beautiful Christmas markets in our city. We present you our five favorites!
Historical Christmas Market
Probably the most famous Christmas market in Hamburg: the historic Christmas market is located directly at the foot of the City Hall and on the edge of the Alster. Due to the fact that he has such a great reputation, the market attracts many visitors every year who want to drink a punch or eat roasted almonds in the romantic light of the stalls. And let me tell you, they taste simply heavenly here. (Maybe they are even the best in all of Hamburg?).
The Historic Christmas Market shines with its diverse and handmade products. You can buy wood-carved figures, Nuremberg gingerbread and much more. Every day you can stroll around and be enchanted by the Christmas spirit. Enjoy the quaint alleys, which puts you in a magical Christmas atmosphere with lots of glittering lights. At the latest in the toy alley not only the children's eyes start to shine.

White magic
The white magic is located directly at the Jungfernstieg and the name could not be more appropriate. Until December 29, the Christmas market delights visitors with the beautiful light show, which makes us dream directly of a winter wonderland.
A special highlight for the children is a ride in the historic Ferris wheel from 1926, but the adults also have a wonderful time here. If you let your eyes wander, you can discover the decorated Alsterhaus, the illuminated Binnenalster and, of course, many stalls offering Christmas treats and handicrafts.

Hamburg's hottest Christmas market - Santa Pauli
We've all heard of Sankt Pauli, but Santa Pauli? Probably also, because you will find this very special Christmas market in the middle of the Reeperbahn! Here tradition meets modernity, because even if the Christmas traditions are observed here, the whole thing is combined with a good portion of neighborhood hustle and bustle. In the numerous mulled wine stands you will find a wide selection of different punch varieties, one tastier than the other. But that's not all, because on Santa Pauli you can also expect a strip tent and porn karaoke. Once an hour you can watch a free strip show, but of course the entrance is only from 18 years.
And another highlight: in Santa's mulled wine pharmacy you can create your own mulled wine! If you then make yourself really cozy on the winter deck with a fireplace and listen to live music with enchanting Christmas angels, you can ring in the festival of love.

Coziness at the Christmas market in Ottensen
Altona and Ottensen are two districts that probably evoke a cozy and lively atmosphere in the minds of many Hamburg residents, and that's exactly what happens at the Christmas market in Ottensen. There are pretty stalls that provide us with the most delicious Christmas delicacies and of course with really fancy Christmas gifts for our loved ones. The Christmas market in Ottensen is definitely something for the whole family, whether big or small - it's colorful and diverse here, just like the district itself, there's something for everyone! One of the most authentic Christmas markets in our city.
On December 6, children can meet Santa Claus himself and pick up a little Christmas snack from him. The witch Knickebein, who is very popular with the children, invites the little ones to make music together. Culinary delights are also on offer here: Of course, the traditional Christmas dishes, but here is also a little something to try. A vegan currywurst or Polish specialties are just the beginning.

Christmas fun in HafenCity
The last Christmas market we would like to introduce to you is the fun Christmas market in HafenCity. Directly on Überseeboulevard, Christmas atmosphere and exciting activities await you on the ice course under the motto "Wintergolf". On the 300 m2 ice skating rink you can test your skills or take part in one of the courses. Great fun for young and old.
And if you've always wondered what it's like in a real Christmas bakery, here's your chance to take a look inside the "glass bakery" and watch the gnomes at work. This Christmas market has been open the longest. You can enjoy Christmas flair here in HafenCity in front of the Old Port Authority until Dec. 30, 2022.
